Please join us for Southampton Youth Orchestra presenting an exciting nautical concert at Turner Sims!
Nielsen’s Helios Overture opens the concert, illustrating the sunrise on the eastern horizon of the Aegean sea and following the sun’s journey through the sky to sunset.
With the darkened sea, Rimsky-Korsakoff’s thrilling Arabian tale of Scheherazade and Sinbad the Sailor begins.
Musical director Kevin Withell is delighted to welcome guest leader and soloist Stephen Nurse.
